CHAPTER 1 — The Accusation

CHAPTER 1 — The Accusation

“I know you’re cheating on me.”

Those were the first words Ethan said when I told him I was pregnant.

No hesitation. No questions. Just accusation.

I stood in our living room holding the positive test, still trying to process my own emotions, while he already looked at me like I was something dirty.

“That’s impossible,” I whispered. “Ethan, I haven’t been with anyone else—”

He laughed.

A short, cold sound.

“Spare me,” he said, grabbing his coat. “You think I don’t know how this works? You’re trying to trap me.”

By the next morning, he had moved out.

By the next week, he was seen with another woman.

And by the time I walked into the ultrasound clinic alone, my marriage already felt like something that had been erased.

But Ethan still showed up.

Not for me.

For proof.

He sat in the corner of the room, arms crossed, smirking like a man waiting to win.

The doctor began the scan.

At first, everything was normal.

Soft beeping.

Dim light.

The faint shape of life forming on the screen.

Then—

The doctor stopped moving.

His expression changed.

He leaned closer.

Then suddenly said:

“Come here.”

May you like

He looked at Ethan.

“You need to see this.”
