Chapter 4 – The Greatest Gift

Chapter 4 – The Greatest Gift

Six months later...

The mansion felt different.

Lighter.

Warmer.

Laughter once again echoed through the hallways.

The little boy had finished building a wooden display shelf beside the fireplace.

Every carved star from his gift rested there.

His father stopped before it every evening.

Not because he needed reminding.

But because he wanted to remember what truly mattered.

One afternoon, the boy looked up.

"Dad?"

"Yes, buddy?"

"Do you still have my first present?"

His father smiled.

"I'll keep it for the rest of my life."

He gently placed a hand on his son's shoulder.

"No amount of money can replace the love behind a child's gift."

The boy hugged him tightly.

Outside, the sun dipped below the trees, bathing the home in golden light.

The mansion was still magnificent.

But its greatest treasure had never been the marble floors...

Or the priceless artwork...

Or the fortune hidden in bank accounts.

It was the promise a father made that day:

No one would ever make his son feel unwanted again.

Because a real parent doesn't measure wealth by what fills a house.

A real parent measures it by the child who feels safe enough to call it home.

The End.
