🎬 CHAPTER 1— “The First Collapse”

Part 1: The Quiet Collapse
By sunrise, Julian Grant believed nothing had changed.
Serena was still in his penthouse. The Meridian Club scandal would “fade,” as it always did. Wealth had a way of smoothing consequences.
He was wrong.
At 6:12 a.m., his assistant tried to access the Grant Meridian Foundation accounts.
Access denied.
At 6:18 a.m., three major investors requested emergency withdrawal meetings.
At 6:25 a.m., the first headline appeared:
“Anonymous Audit Triggered Across Grant Holdings Subsidiaries.”
Julian frowned at his phone.
“That’s impossible,” he muttered.
Serena, still in bed, barely looked up. “It’s probably a competitor.”
But Julian had built his empire on one truth:
No competitor could move this fast.
Across the city, Amelia sat in her mother’s estate, dressed in a simple black suit. No silk. No jewelry. Only calm precision.
Her attorney, Daniel, placed a tablet in front of her.
“Phase one is complete,” he said. “Liquidity locks are active. Offshore accounts have been frozen under compliance review. His foundation is suspended pending fraud verification.”
Amelia nodded once.
“And the press?” she asked.
Daniel hesitated. “They’re calling it a hostile takeover.”

Amelia’s eyes didn’t change.
“No,” she said quietly. “It’s recovery.”
