Alexander stayed beside her hospital bed through the night.
When she finally woke, she smiled faintly.
"You should be at work."
He shook his head.
"There's nowhere more important than here."
Meanwhile, the security footage was turned over to the appropriate authorities as part of their investigation into the incident.
Back at the mansion, Victoria packed her belongings in silence.
She paused in the doorway.
"I loved you."
Alexander answered quietly.
"I believed you."
"But love is measured by what we choose to do."
