Andrew finally stepped toward Clara.
"I'm sorry."
She looked at him quietly.
"For what?"
"For not protecting you."
She nodded.
"Exactly."
He reached for her hand.
She stepped back.
"You weren't supposed to protect my dress."
"You were supposed to protect your future wife."
His shoulders sank.
Patricia suddenly pointed toward Clara.
"You planned this!"
"No."
"I simply didn't expect you to reveal yourselves before the ceremony even began."
The guests slowly began leaving their seats.
Not because the wedding was continuing.
Because they understood it was over.
Clara turned to the venue manager.
"Please refund every guest's travel expenses."
"And donate tonight's catering to the local shelters."
The manager smiled.
"Already arranged."
Andrew looked stunned.
"You planned for this?"
"No."
"I planned for a marriage."
