As security escorted Damian from the executive floor, another group entered.
Government financial investigators.
The room fell silent again.
One investigator approached Elena.
"Ms. Voss, thank you for your cooperation."
Damian froze.
"What cooperation?"
The investigator opened a thick evidence file.
"For the past eighteen months, Ms. Voss has voluntarily assisted our investigation into financial fraud inside this corporation."
Damian's face turned pale.
Elena had known.
She had known every false invoice.
Every offshore transfer.
Every illegal payment.
She simply waited.
Not for revenge...
For proof.
The lead investigator continued.
"Your electronic signature appears on every unauthorized transaction."
Damian shook his head violently.
"They told me it was standard procedure!"
"They?"
The investigator smiled slightly.
"They've already confessed."
