At Carter Global, the first response wasn’t panic.
It was confusion.
Then silence.
Then chaos.
My phone rang.
Ryan.
“You sent it,” he said.
“I did.”
“…Claire,” he exhaled slowly. “You didn’t just send it to HR.”
“I know.”
There was a pause.
Then a low laugh. “You sent it to the board.”
“I sent it to everyone who needed context.”
Ryan didn’t respond immediately.
That was unusual for him.
Finally, he said, “Michael is going to see it in real time.”
“I expected that.”
“You also included timestamps and internal access logs.”
“I know.”
Another pause.
Then: “You built a case. Not a complaint.”
