CHAPTER 1: The Glass That Shouldn’t Be Touched

The wedding hall had been perfect.

White roses. Gold accents. Music floating like a dream no one wanted to wake from.

Until the glass hit the floor.

CRACK.

Orange juice spread across the marble like liquid fire, shards of crystal skidding under tables.

Gasps erupted instantly.

“What just happened?!”

The groom stood frozen, his hand still half-raised where the drink had been.

And in front of him—

the maid.

Breathing hard.

Shaking.

Her hand still extended from the sudden motion of knocking the glass away.

Before anyone could process it, the bride stormed forward.

“Are you insane?!” she snapped.

And then—

SLAP.

The sound cut through the entire hall.

The maid’s head turned slightly with the force. Silence followed immediately, heavy and suffocating.

The bride’s voice sharpened.

“You touch my fiancé again, and you’re gone!”

The maid didn’t respond.

She didn’t cry.

She only stared at the shattered glass on the floor.

And whispered—

“…Don’t drink it.”

The groom frowned.

“What are you talking about?”

May you like

But the maid’s hands were trembling now.

And she was already reaching for her phone.
