CHAPTER 3: The Maid Who Stood Between Life and Death

CHAPTER 3: The Maid Who Stood Between Life and Death
Security moved in—but no one knew who to restrain anymore.
The bride was screaming now.
“You set me up! She faked it! She—”
But the maid stepped forward.
Slowly.
Her cheek still red from the slap.
Her eyes steady.
“No,” she said quietly. “I recorded it myself.”
Silence fell again.
The groom turned toward her.
“You… why?”
The maid hesitated.
For the first time, her voice wavered.
“Because I used to work for her family before this wedding.”
A pause.
Then softer:
“And I recognized the vial.”
The bride went pale.
The maid continued.
“I didn’t want to believe it. But I couldn’t let you drink it.”
Her hands tightened around her phone.
“I don’t care if you hate me for this.”
Tears finally fell down her face.
“But I couldn’t let you die in front of me.”
The groom looked at the shattered glass again.
Then at her.
Then at the bride.
Something inside him broke—but not loudly.
Quietly.
Like trust collapsing under its own weight.
The bride whispered desperately:
“You’re going to believe her over me?”
But no one answered.
Because the evidence had already spoken.
And in the middle of the ruined wedding hall—
the maid stood trembling…
the bride stood exposed…
May you like
and the groom realized that the life he was about to step into had already tried to end him.
