Alejandro didn’t move at first.
Not because he couldn’t.
Because his mind refused to accept what his eyes had already confirmed.
The mold on the bread looked too real to be accidental.
Valeria was still watching him carefully, like she was waiting to see if she had said something forbidden.
Regina kept her gaze locked on the table.
Camila’s quiet crying had turned into silent shaking.
Sofía stayed hidden under the table, as if the shadows were safer than him.
Then Alejandro slowly exhaled.
A controlled breath.
The kind a man takes when something inside him breaks but refuses to show it.
“Who has been taking care of you?” he asked quietly.
No answer.
