CHAPTER 1: The Wrong Jet

CHAPTER 1: The Wrong Jet

The private terminal was quiet in that expensive way—no noise, only engines waiting and polished glass reflecting money.

The nanny hurried across the tarmac with a small suitcase in one hand and a lunchbox in the other.

She was already late.

The children would be waiting.

A uniformed attendant nodded her toward the nearest jet.

“Flight for the Hartwell family?” she asked.

“Yes, ma’am. That one.”

The stairs were already lowered.

She climbed quickly.

Inside, the cabin was nothing like she expected.

It wasn’t the usual soft cream interior of the Hartwell jet.

This one was darker. Sleeker. Colder.

A man sat alone near the window, typing on a laptop.

He looked up.

And froze.

“So you’re the new assistant?”

The nanny blinked.

“I think I’m in the wrong plane…”

A beat of silence.

May you like

Then the cabin door closed behind her.

Locked.
