CHAPTER 3: The Children Who Ran First

CHAPTER 3: The Children Who Ran First

The cabin door suddenly opened again.

Two children rushed in.

“Miss Lila!”

The nanny turned instantly.

Relief flooded her face.

“Wait—you’re on this plane?” she asked.

The younger boy nodded.

“We didn’t want you to take a different flight. Dad said you were going later.”

Behind them, a taller figure appeared.

The billionaire.

He stopped when he saw her.

Then exhaled slowly.

“This is the wrong jet,” he said.

“I know,” she replied softly. “I’m sorry.”

But the children weren’t listening.

They ran to her, grabbing her hands.

“No!” the girl said quickly. “She can’t leave.”

The billionaire frowned.

“Ella…”

“She stays with us,” the boy added firmly.

The nanny looked down, confused.

“I’m just staff—”

“You’re not just staff,” the girl interrupted.

Then, quieter:

“You’re the only person who doesn’t treat us like we’re alone.”

The cabin went silent.

The billionaire looked at his children.

Then at her.

Something shifted in his expression.

Not surprise.

Understanding.

Finally, he spoke.

“Looks like my jet made a mistake,” he said.

A pause.

Then, softer:

“…but maybe not the wrong one.”

The children smiled.

And for the first time that day, the nanny realized—

she hadn’t accidentally boarded a jet.
