CHAPTER I – THE SILVER CHARM

CHAPTER I – THE SILVER CHARM
The man's hand began to shake.
He stared at the small silver charm dangling from the girl's wrist.
A tiny crescent moon.
Scratched on the back were two initials.
A.M.
His initials.
The girl's eyes widened as he carefully touched it.
“Do you know it?” she asked.
The man couldn't answer immediately.
Years of memories crashed into him all at once.
A hospital room.
A young woman laughing.
A promise.
And a child he had never met.
“What's your mother's name?” he finally whispered.
The little girl smiled.
“Emily.”
The world seemed to stop.
Emily.
The woman he had loved more than anything.
The woman he thought had disappeared forever.
The woman he had spent ten years searching for before finally giving up.
His heart pounded so hard it hurt.
“Where is she?” he asked.
May you like
The girl pointed down the street.
“Home.”
