CHAPTER 2: The Name They Forgot

CHAPTER 2: The Name They Forgot

Victor stepped forward, anger finally catching up to his embarrassment.

“You’re a waitress,” he said sharply. “You don’t get to—”

Elena interrupted him.

“Say it,” she said calmly.

He frowned. “Say what?”

“My name,” she replied.

Silence.

A flicker of memory passed through a few faces in the room.

Old newspaper headlines.

A scandal.

A collapse.

A family name erased from finance circles overnight.

Victor laughed nervously.

“I don’t care what your name is.”

Elena looked at him for a long moment.

Then said:

“That’s your first mistake.”

The VIP room shifted.

Because suddenly, it wasn’t about a waitress anymore.

May you like

And memory.
