Chapter 2 – The Evidence Already Inside the Room

Chapter 2 – The Evidence Already Inside the Room
The police didn’t rush.
They walked in like they already knew why they were there.
Two officers moved toward the stage.
Two more sealed the exits.
The man in the tailored suit—who had moments ago owned the entire room—staggered backward.
“No,” he said, forcing a laugh. “This is a misunderstanding. Ask her. She’s just—”
He pointed at me.
But I didn’t move.
Because I didn’t need to.
One of the officers raised a hand.
“Sir. Step away from the stage.”
His voice cracked.
“Do you know who I am?”
Silence answered him.
The giant screen behind us flickered again.
Not my doing this time.
The system had already been triggered before I even stepped onto this stage.
A recording resumed.
His voice.
Earlier that day.
“She thinks she can challenge me? I built her name. I can erase it too.”
The audience shifted uncomfortably.
Phones kept recording—but now not him.
The screen.
Another clip.
Another room.
Another contract signed under someone else’s name.
A stolen design.
A stolen patent.
A stolen identity of work he claimed as his own.
A woman near the front whispered,
“Oh my God…”
He turned toward the screen.
For the first time, panic cracked his voice.
“Turn it off.”
No one did.
Because no one could.
The system wasn’t controlled from the stage anymore.
It was controlled from the outside.
From someone who had already planned the ending.
His eyes snapped to me.
“You—”
I finally looked at him.
Calm.
Not angry.
May you like
Not surprised.
Just finished waiting.
