Chapter 4: The Truth Beneath the Tide

Chapter 4: The Truth Beneath the Tide

The admiral gave a single order.

“Detain him.”

Two naval officers stepped forward.

Miller backed away toward the edge of the dock.

“No—wait—you don’t understand—”

But the diver spoke quietly.

“We’ve understood for months, sir.”

“The ship wasn’t just being monitored.”

“It was being watched.”

Miller turned toward his wife one last time.

The woman he had just discarded.

The woman he thought had nothing left to offer him.

“What are you?” he whispered.

She looked at him for a long moment.

Then answered simply.

“The daughter of the man who built this fleet.”

A pause.

The wind filled it.

Then she added,

“You just married into the wrong history.”

Miller’s knees gave out as the officers restrained him.

The admiral watched without expression.

The wedding ring rolled slightly on the dock.

Then stopped.

Just before the edge.

As if even the water refused to take what had already been decided.

EPILOGUE (ENGLISH)

Some people believe power is what you see—uniforms, titles, rank.

But real power is what remains after those things are taken away.

Officer Miller thought he was choosing between two women.

In reality, he was choosing between truth and illusion.

And the moment he threw the ring into the water

he didn’t end a marriage.

He exposed a system that was already waiting for him to fall.

Because some ships don’t belong to the men standing on them.

May you like

They belong to the history beneath them.
