One week later.
The executive boardroom was filled with shareholders, directors, and family members.
Jessica entered wearing an expensive white suit.
She smiled confidently.
Soon she would become the new Mrs. Hale.

That was the plan.
Her husband stood at the head of the table.
"My father intended this company to remain in our family."
Before he could continue...
The conference room doors opened.
Everyone turned.
The pregnant wife walked inside.
Her arm rested protectively over her baby bump.
Richard followed behind her carrying several legal binders.
Jessica laughed.
"You've got some nerve showing up."
Richard ignored her.
Instead, he handed every board member a copy of the amended will.
Silence spread across the room.
One director looked up.
"This can't be right."
Richard answered calmly.
"It is."
"The amendment was signed six months before Mr. Hale passed away."
The husband snatched the papers.
His face drained of color.
"No..."
Richard continued.
"The former chairman also requested posthumous DNA verification."
Another envelope was opened.
The laboratory seal remained intact.
Within seconds...
Every director understood.
The room erupted.
Jessica stepped backward.
His mother collapsed into her chair.
The husband whispered,
"This isn't possible..."
Richard met his eyes.
"Your father knew the truth."
"He simply chose love over revenge."
"But he would never allow cruelty to inherit his life's work."
Security entered moments later.
The board voted unanimously.
The husband was removed as CEO.
