CHAPTER 4 — THE LEGACY

CHAPTER 4 — THE LEGACY

Six months later...

A healthy baby girl laughed as sunlight filled a quiet garden.

The mansion that had once felt cold was now filled with warmth.

The company announced a new foundation supporting mothers and children escaping domestic abuse.

It carried only one name.

The Eleanor Hale Foundation.

The woman who had once been left bleeding on a marble floor now led one of the country's fastest-growing charitable organizations.

She never sought revenge.

She sought justice.

As for her former husband...

He sold his luxury apartment to pay mounting legal debts.

Jessica disappeared from every society event she once fought so hard to attend.

Their names slowly faded from headlines.

But every year, on the anniversary of that terrible day, the new chairwoman visited her father-in-law's grave.

She placed fresh white lilies beside the headstone.

Then she smiled and whispered,

"You believed in me when no one else did."

The wind stirred gently through the trees.

For the first time in a long time...

She felt something she had almost forgotten.

Peace.

Because the greatest inheritance had never been the fortune.

May you like

It had been the courage to walk away from people who never deserved her love.

The End.
