The fire station classroom didn’t feel like a classroom anymore.
It felt like a courtroom that nobody had agreed to enter.
The screen at the front of the room was still paused on the file I had just submitted—my hands shaking slightly as I stepped back from the laptop.
Audrey Sinclair stood perfectly still in the middle of the group.
But her smile was gone now.
Completely gone.
The teacher’s voice cut through the tension.
“Farah… what exactly are we looking at?”
I swallowed.
“It’s the incident log,” I said quietly. “From the hydrant demonstration.”
A few students shifted uncomfortably.
Someone whispered, “Wait… there’s footage?”
Audrey’s head snapped slightly.
“No,” she said quickly. “That’s not necessary. This is just her trying to—”
The fire station instructor raised a hand.
“Let’s see it.”
That was the moment her confidence cracked.
