PART 1: THE PHOTO THAT SHOULD NOT EXIST

PART 1: THE PHOTO THAT SHOULD NOT EXIST

The lobby didn’t move.

Even the air felt suspended.

The man in the navy suit stared at the faded photograph like it was rewriting reality in real time.

The newborn bracelet.

The hospital stamp.

The date.

His fingers slowly loosened around his briefcase.

“No…” he whispered. “That’s impossible.”

The socialite froze mid-breath.

“Ethan,” she said sharply, her voice suddenly unstable. “Don’t listen to her. This is harassment. She’s mentally unstable—”

But the young woman in scrubs didn’t look at her.

She only looked at him.

Like she had been searching for this exact face her entire life.

“I didn’t stalk anyone,” she said, voice trembling but steady. “I was told I died.”

Silence cracked through the marble floor.

An elderly board member stepped closer, adjusting his glasses.

He looked at the photograph again.

Then at her wrist.

Then at Ethan.

And slowly said:

“That bracelet… was from Ward C. Twenty-three years ago.”

The man’s voice broke.

“Ethan… this isn’t a coincidence.”
