PART 2: THE CHILD THEY ERASED

PART 2: THE CHILD THEY ERASED

Ethan stepped forward.

Not like a CEO.

Not like a husband.

Like a man walking into a collapsing memory.

“What did you just say?” he asked quietly.

The woman in scrubs held the photo tighter.

“My name is Lena,” she said. “Or at least… that’s what I was given.”

The socialite snapped back into motion.

“This is absurd! She’s fabricating everything! Security—remove her!”

But no one moved.

Because Ethan had raised his hand.

Just slightly.

And that was enough.

“Let her speak,” he said.

Lena’s eyes filled, but she didn’t stop.

“They told me I was a stillbirth,” she said. “I only found out the truth last month.”

She pulled out another document.

Hospital transfer records.

Redacted files.

A signature that matched the board member’s records.

The elderly man staggered back.

“That file… was sealed by executive order…”

Ethan turned slowly toward him.

“By who?”

A pause.

And then the worst answer imaginable.

“…by your wife.”

The socialite went rigid.

“That’s not true,” she said quickly. “Ethan, I protected you—us—our reputation—”

But Ethan wasn’t looking at her anymore.

He was looking at Lena.

And for the first time, his voice cracked.

“If you’re telling the truth…”

He swallowed hard.

“…then where have you been all this time?”

May you like

Lena whispered:

“Somewhere you were never supposed to find me.”
