Chapter 11 – Camila's Secret

Chapter 11 – Camila's Secret

Isabella Rossi sat across from Julian.

For the first time in decades, she looked smaller.

Not powerless.

Never powerless.

But no longer untouchable.

The recording equipment remained on.

The attorneys watched silently.

Detective Grant waited with her pen ready.

Julian looked at the woman who had raised him.

The woman who had taught him how to negotiate.

How to win.

How to never show weakness.

And the woman who had destroyed the one thing he valued more than his empire.

His family.

"Before we begin," Isabella said quietly, "I want to explain."

Julian's expression didn't change.

"No."

Her eyes flickered.

"No?"

"No explanations."

He placed the contract on the table.

"The truth."

"That's all I want."

Isabella looked at the document.

"I made a mistake."

Julian laughed once.

A cold, humorless sound.

"A mistake?"

"You separated me from my wife."

"You hid my child from me."

"You allowed someone to monitor her."

"You let her believe I stopped looking for her."

His voice lowered.

"That wasn't a mistake."

"That was a decision."

For several seconds...

Isabella said nothing.

Then she finally admitted:

"Yes."

"I made that decision."

The room became silent.

Detective Grant continued.

"Mrs. Rossi, did you arrange Elena Moretti's disappearance?"

Isabella looked down.

"Yes."

Julian closed his eyes briefly.

Hearing it from her lips hurt more than any evidence ever could.

"Why?"

Isabella answered honestly.

"Because I believed I was saving my son."

"From what?"

"From losing everything."

She explained the threats.

The anonymous messages.

The corporate pressure.

The danger surrounding Project Atlas.

Julian listened.

But he noticed something.

Every sentence centered around one thing.

The company.

The merger.

The Rossi name.

Never Elena.

Never the pain she suffered.

"You knew Elena was pregnant."

Isabella looked up.

"Yes."

"You still forced her away."

"Yes."

"You knew she had nowhere to go."

"I arranged housing."

Julian's expression hardened.

"You arranged a prison."

Before Isabella could answer...

The conference room doors opened.

Everyone turned.

Camila stood there.

She looked different.

Not the glamorous woman from the hotel lobby.

Not the woman who had walked beside Julian wearing designer gowns and perfect smiles.

Today...

She looked afraid.

Julian stared at her.

"What are you doing here?"

Camila swallowed.

"I need to talk."

"About what?"

She glanced at Isabella.

Then at Detective Grant.

"About the truth."

The room became even quieter.

Camila stepped inside.

"I was never supposed to become part of this."

Julian's eyes narrowed.

"What does that mean?"

She placed a folder on the table.

"I wasn't your girlfriend by accident."

The words landed like a physical blow.

Julian didn't move.

"Explain."

Camila opened the folder.

Inside were photographs.

Emails.

Financial records.

The first page contained a company name:

Blackstone Meridian Capital

Julian's jaw tightened.

"I was recruited six months ago."

"By who?"

Camila looked at Isabella.

Then away.

"Not her."

"By Blackstone."

Everyone stared.

"I met Julian at a charity event."

"I was told exactly what to say."

"What to wear."

"Where to appear."

"How to make him believe I was interested."

Julian's face became cold.

"So our relationship was planned."

Camila nodded.

"Yes."

"Why?"

"To monitor you."

"To control your decisions."

"To make sure you wouldn't reconnect with Elena."

Julian looked away.

Suddenly, every conversation with Camila felt different.

Every question.

Every suggestion.

Every carefully timed appearance.

She continued.

"They knew Elena was alive."

Julian looked back sharply.

"What?"

Camila's eyes filled with guilt.

"They knew."

"From the beginning."

The room froze.

"How?"

Camila hesitated.

"Because someone inside the hotel reported to them."

"Victor?"

She nodded.

Julian's hands tightened.

"Why didn't you tell me?"

Camila looked down.

"Because I was afraid."

"Of them?"

"Yes."

"Then why are you telling me now?"

Her voice cracked.

"Because when I saw Elena in that hospital..."

"And I saw your son..."

"I realized what they had turned me into."

She pushed another file toward him.

"This contains payment records."

"Every month I received money from Blackstone."

Julian opened the file.

The numbers were clear.

Monthly transfers.

Six months.

Each payment labeled:

Relationship Maintenance / Rossi Monitoring

His stomach turned.

He had been watched.

Studied.

Manipulated.

Detective Grant examined the documents.

"Why give this to us now?"

Camila answered quietly.

"Because I found out something worse."

"What?"

She took a deep breath.

"Their real target was never the company."

Julian frowned.

"What do you mean?"

"They don't want Rossi Group."

"They want something else."

Marco stepped closer.

"What?"

Camila looked directly at Julian.

"They want your voting rights."

Silence.

Julian understood immediately.

The Rossi Group wasn't valuable because of its buildings.

Its hotels.

Its ships.

It was valuable because Julian controlled the majority voting shares inherited from his father.

If someone controlled Julian...

They controlled the empire.

"And Elena?"

Camila's eyes filled with shame.

"She was the one thing they couldn't predict."

"Because you loved her."

Julian looked down.

For eight months, he had believed Elena left him.

Believed she gave up on their marriage.

Believed he had lost her.

The truth was far worse.

She had sacrificed herself to protect him.

A notification suddenly appeared on Detective Grant's laptop.

She frowned.

"That's impossible."

"What?"

"The financial records Camila provided..."

She stared at the screen.

"They're being deleted remotely."

Everyone froze.

"Can you stop it?"

"Our system is isolated."

"Someone is accessing this from outside."

The files disappeared one by one.

Payment records.

Emails.

Contracts.

Everything.

Except one.

A single encrypted document remained.

Detective Grant opened it.

The title appeared:

PROJECT ROSSI – FINAL PHASE

Julian stepped closer.

"What is that?"

She clicked.

A list appeared.

Names.

Dates.

Targets.

At the top:

Julian Rossi

Status:

Emotional Isolation: Complete

Financial Vulnerability: In Progress

Family Pressure: Activated

Then the final line:

Phase Three: Remove Elena and Child.

The room went silent.

Julian stared at the screen.

The words burned into his mind.

Remove Elena and child.

Not separate them.

Not control them.

Remove.

Camila whispered,

"They were never planning to let you have a family."

Julian slowly closed the laptop.

His expression changed.

The grief disappeared.

The anger disappeared.

Only determination remained.

"Where is the person giving the orders?"

Everyone looked at him.

Detective Grant answered carefully.

"We're trying to find out."

Julian looked at the evidence.

At Isabella.

At Camila.

At the documents proving his entire life had been manipulated.

Then he said:

"No."

"We're not finding them."

"They're going to find us."

At that exact moment...

Across the city...

A man watched the live news broadcast showing Julian Rossi leaving the investigation hearing.

He sat inside a dark office.

No windows.

No photographs.

Only screens.

One displayed Elena recovering in the hospital.

Another displayed Julian holding his newborn son.

The man smiled.

"Good."

"He finally understands."

A woman standing behind him asked,

"Should we proceed?"

The man looked at the screen.

"Yes."

"The Rossi family is finally together."

He paused.

Then smiled coldly.

May you like

"Now we break them."
