Chapter 11

The Daughter of the Truth

The truth is rarely simple.

People imagine that when a secret is revealed, everything becomes clear.

They imagine answers bring peace.

But sometimes...

Answers only create bigger questions.

For the Moretti family, every truth uncovered opened another door.

And behind every door...

Was another hidden story.

The woman standing outside the mansion introduced herself as Isabella Moretti.

The name alone was enough to silence everyone.

Because the Moretti family had always believed there were only two sons.

Alessandro.

Luca.

Two heirs.

Two lives.

Two futures.

But now...

A daughter had appeared.

She stood in the grand entrance hall wearing a simple black coat.

No expensive jewelry.

No designer clothes.

Nothing that suggested she wanted the attention surrounding the Moretti name.

"I am not here for money."

Those were the first words she said.

Alessandro studied her carefully.

After everything that happened, trust was no longer something he gave freely.

Not even to family.

"Then why are you here?"

Isabella looked around the mansion.

At the portraits.

The marble floors.

The family history displayed everywhere.

"Because my father deserved to tell the truth."

The word stopped everyone.

Father.

Luca stepped forward.

"Who was your father?"

Isabella looked at him.

And for the first time...

Luca Moretti looked afraid.

"Matteo Moretti."

Silence.

Clara closed her eyes.

Because she already knew.

Alessandro noticed.

"You knew."

It wasn't a question.

Clara slowly nodded.

"I knew about Isabella."

The room changed.

Again.

Alessandro looked at the woman he had trusted.

The woman who had protected Emma.

The woman who had carried secrets for decades.

"How many things did you hide from us?"

Clara looked down.

"Too many."

The answer hurt more than a lie.

Because it was honest.

Isabella stepped forward.

"She didn't hide them to hurt you."

Everyone looked at her.

"She hid them because my father asked her to."

Alessandro frowned.

"Why?"

Isabella took a deep breath.

"Because he knew someone was trying to destroy his family."

Another piece of the puzzle.

She explained.

Twenty years ago, Matteo Moretti discovered that Marco Bellini and Victor Hale were planning to take control of the company.

But he also discovered something worse.

The corruption had spread inside his own family.

"Your father knew he was running out of time."

Isabella said.

"He created protections."

"The hidden inheritance."

"The secret records."

"The letters."

"And the children."

Everyone became still.

"The children?"

Isabella nodded.

"My father believed that if something happened to him..."

"His children would be the only people who could expose the truth."

Alessandro looked at Emma.

Then at Isabella.

Then at Luca.

Three heirs.

Three pieces of a broken family.

But Victor Hale had spent twenty years making sure they would never stand together.

"Where were you all these years?"

Luca asked.

Isabella's expression changed.

Pain.

"Hidden."

She revealed the truth.

After Matteo's death, Victor searched for every piece of evidence that could expose him.

Anyone connected to Matteo became a target.

Isabella's mother disappeared.

Her identity was erased.

She grew up believing the Moretti family had abandoned her.

Just like Luca.

The similarity was painful.

Two children.

Both forgotten.

Both believing they were unwanted.

Both victims of the same person.

Meanwhile...

Across the city...

Victor Hale watched the news.

He saw Isabella entering the Moretti mansion.

His expression remained calm.

A man beside him asked:

"Should we be concerned?"

Victor smiled.

"No."

"Why?"

"Because the Morettis have always had the same weakness."

"What weakness?"

Victor looked at the screen.

"They love each other."

A pause.

"And love makes people predictable."

Back at the mansion...

Alessandro sat with Isabella, Luca, Clara, and Emma.

For the first time...

All the hidden pieces of Matteo Moretti's family were in the same room.

Emma looked at Isabella.

"Are you family too?"

Isabella smiled sadly.

"I think so."

Emma thought carefully.

Then moved closer.

"Then you can sit with us."

The simple kindness of a child changed the atmosphere.

Because Emma did not care about inheritance.

She did not care about names.

She only saw people.

That night, Alessandro made a decision.

"The empire is no longer the priority."

Everyone looked at him.

"We find Victor."

Luca nodded.

For the first time in twenty years...

The brothers stood on the same side.

But before they could begin...

A new problem appeared.

The police arrived.

Detective Reynolds entered the mansion with a serious expression.

"Mr. Moretti."

Alessandro stood.

"What happened?"

The detective placed a file on the table.

"We found evidence connecting you to illegal financial activity."

Everyone froze.

"What?"

The detective continued.

"The documents released today weren't random."

"They were designed to make it appear that you approved the fraud."

Alessandro stared.

"Victor."

The detective nodded.

"He planted everything."

A pause.

"But there is one problem."

"What?"

The detective looked at Luca.

"The evidence points to someone inside the Moretti family."

Everyone became silent.

Because Victor had planned carefully.

He knew Alessandro would look outside.

He knew Luca would be suspected.

He knew Isabella was new.

But the real question was...

Who had helped him?

Then Emma walked toward the table.

She looked at the papers.

At the signatures.

At the photographs.

"That person was here."

Everyone looked at her.

Alessandro crouched down.

"Who?"

Emma pointed at one picture.

A person standing behind Victor.

"The lady."

Clara's face changed.

"What lady?"

Emma whispered:

"The one who gave the bad man the papers."

Everyone looked at the photograph.

And slowly...

Alessandro recognized the person.

Someone who had been beside them.

Someone who had earned their trust.

Someone who knew every secret inside the mansion.

Vanessa Cole.

But Vanessa was supposed to be gone.

Then Alessandro's phone rang.

A message appeared.

One sentence.

YOU FOUND THE TRUTH. NOW FIND THE TRAITOR.

Alessandro looked around the room.

His family.

His enemies.

His secrets.

The empire had fallen.

But the real war...

May you like

Had just begun.
